Cowlitz History

I am a proud Cowlitz Indian, a descendant of Scanewa.  Since childhood I have known and identified as Indian. I got involved with our Tribe in my early adult years, serving on Tribal Council which would turn out to be for many years. I also served the Tribe by volunteering to establish and serve on our Health Board and Housing Board. I was the first paid employee of the Tribe; establishing and operating the first official tribal office on 15th Ave before the Tribe purchased and moved to our current location on 9th Ave in Longview. My Tribe has always been very important and central to me and my family.
