Cowlitz History

All my life, even when I was little, we were told to keep our Indian heritage hidden. Even so, I was always proud to be a Cowlitz Indian and I still am. I spent many years on Tribal Council and as General Council Secretary, including through our struggle to gain federal acknowledgement. As an early employee of the Tribe, I helped to set up the administrative offices for a modern tribe. I am so proud of everything our Tribe and people have accomplished.
